The little pearl of the Marais, Paris, France: “Hotel de la Place des Vosges” sits at the entrance to one of the most beautiful squares in all of Europe. It has witnessed everything from revolutions and liberations to artistic genius (Victor Hugo has called this home) to the bold and valorous (from daring duels to d’Artagnan).
Through the unfailing dedication of its owner, this building has been carefully preserved to retain the romance of years gone by. Located on the prestigious rue de Birague in the 4th arrondissement, this charming place dates back to 1605, originally having served as housing for the royal stables and its personnel. The horses may be long gone but the charm is not.
Once the residence and place of inspiration of Victor Hugo, this unique boutique Hotel of sixteen cozy rooms is a pleasant and perfect fusion of tradition and comfort with modernity. It is located in the very heart of a top world metropolitan city, in the au courant Marais district at the entrance to the oldest square in Paris. While the Marais has long been known as the French nobilities’ favorite place of residence, it now boasts trendy restaurants, fashion houses, and hip galleries among its stylish mansions.
This building is classé au titre des Monuments Historiques. It is indexed in the Base Mérimée, a database of architectural heritage maintained by the French Ministry of Culture.
Antique furniture, precious marbles, winding staircases, parquet floors, and original exposed wooden beams dating back to the Seventeenth Century all offer a truly marvelous and enchanting, other-worldly atmosphere. They adorn the whole space throughout the building and make the indoor atmosphere truly exceptional. With room sizes that range from 15 to 100 sq. m. (160-1076 sq. ft.), the Hotel is a dignified complement to the old aristocratic Paris, which is deeply steeped in the history that surrounds it.
Perfectly located in the heart of Paris, a brisk five-minute walk will take you from the Hotel to the Seine, its islands, Notre Dame de Paris or the Pompidou Center, to name just a few of the capital’s must-see sites. Hotel de la Place des Vosges crowns the very heart of the historic Marais district (arrondissement) where you are a delightful stroll from many museums, elegant boutiques, avant-garde art galleries, classical old-time Parisian bistros, and exclusive restaurants.
The Hotel is a forerunner in caring for the environment with, among other things, eco-friendly cleaning and disinfection products, and 100% cotton bed linens cleaned on site. Energy is thus conserved to the highest degree possible and hygiene is always guaranteed. With its profound dedication to the well-being of our guests, the Hotel de la Place des Vosges was also the first hotel in the World to introduce the use of quilts in the hotel community.
With the advantage of being a small family business, we always have a “3D” person (Dedicated, Devoted, and Dynamic) at your service, with an equally committed and carefully selected team working together to maintain your maximum comfort.
